Terms and Conditions

For those who enroll in the Italian-language course

  • After confirmation is received, payment must be made to the account specified in the booking information.

  • Reservations are considered binding only when the payment of the deposit is received. Warning: Failure to pay the deposit, however, is not a legally valid way of terminating the agreement. That must be done in writing.

  • Since the accommodations are fully furnished are presented in perfect condition on arrrival, each student (of the shared apartments or rooms) must pay a security deposit of 30.00 euros to be returned on departure unless damage has been done to the accommodations. The same applies to leaving the accommodations in clean, acceptable condition (e.g. dishes washed, rubbish bins emptied).

  • Participants are required to bring with them receipt of the payment of the deposit made toward the reservation, even if the deposit was paid online. On arrival, payment of the balance is expected.

  • In case of cancellation of the language course and accommodations, notice must be given in writing IMMEDIATELY. In such an event, the deposit will be refunded only if the written cancellation is received at least thirty days before the start of the course. There will, however, be assessed an administrative fee of 50.00 euros.

  • Upon arrival, there will be no way to shorten the duration of the course.

  • To guarantee the appropriateness of the course for the participant's working knowledge of the Italian language, the following criteria are used to separate by category:

  • If you are placed in a group of 4 or more participants, you will be entitled to four lesson units of 45 min. per day;

  • If you are placed in a group of 2 or 3 participants, you will be entitled to three lesson units of 45 min. per day;

  • If you are the only person with your knowledge of Italian at a given time, you will be entitled to two lesson units per day.

 

For those who rent a holiday home

  • After confirmation is received, payment must be made to the account specified in the booking information (about 30% of the total cost).

  • If you do not pay the deposit, the accommodation will be made available for new bookings. You have the legal right to lease the property only when you have received confirmation in writing from SolemarSicilia.

  • Reservations are considered binding only when the payment of the deposit is received. Warning: Failure to pay the deposit, however, is not a legally valid way of terminating the agreement. That must be done in writing.

  • Payment of the remaining balance is expected immediately upon arrival.

 

Important information for your arrival:

  • You must show a valid ID to your homeowner or his/her representative at the time of arrival. To receive the keys, you must pay in cash the agreed upon security deposit, which will be refunded to you by the time of your departure so long as the owner finds no evidence of damage caused to the premises and as the premises are in a clean and acceptable condition (e.g. dishes washed and rubbish bins emptied).

  • Check-in, unless otherwise agreed, can be done from 4pm on.

  • Check-out, unless otherwise agreed, has to be done before 10:30

 

Cancellation:

  • Termination of the agreement must be done in writing.

  • In case of cancellation notice received 11 weeks or more before the start of the holiday period reserved, you will pay a penalty equal to 15% of the agreed total price.

  • In case of cancellation notice received between 8 and 10 weeks before the start of the holiday period reserved, you will pay a penalty equal to 30% of the agreed total price.

  • In case of cancellation between 4 and 7 weeks before the start of the holiday period reserved, you will pay a penalty equal to 50% of the agreed total price.

  • In all other cases you will answer for 95% of the total price agreed for damages caused to SolemarSicilia. If you disagree with these criteria for reimbursement, you will have to legally prove the type and amount of damages for which you do not feel directly responsible. It is advisable to take out insurance that protects you in such situations.
