How to get to Sicily

Arrival by plane

In Sicily there are 2 international airports: Palermo and Catania, which are served daily by all major airlines. Regional airports are also available in Trapani, Lampedusa and Pantelleria. The fastest way to reach us is when you arrive in Palermo. From there you can take a rental car, take the train to us or take advantage of our transfer service. Get information here.

We recommend the low-cost airlines Air-Berlin, RyanAir or Germanwings, which offer really moderate prices and fly directly to Catania and Palermo from Germany.

From Palermo or Trapani take the motorway in the direction to Messina, from Catania the highway in the direction to Palermo. The exit is in any case “Casteldaccia”, which leads you to the SS 113. Follow the road towards Palermo. About 3 km after you passed Santa Flavia’s Station (left side), the road makes a sharp left turn. Then you arrive to a crossing where you turn right to ASPRA (signposted). There you drive straight to the sea. Before the road  leads sharply to the left into the village (directly at the coast), turn right into the Via Perez and park there after about 700 meters at number 85a for Villaggio Santino.

To reach the residence Mer et Soleil, follow the road for another 200 meters and turn left into the “strada communale Mongerbino”, then take the first street on the right. Follow the signs here, the residence is at the end of the street.

It should be noted that in Sicily the maps of the GPS are not working properly. We recommend that you buy a road map or print it in advance.

Public Transport

Arrival Palermo

From Punta Raisi Airport  “Falcone Borsellino ” you have three different ways to reach Palermo Central Station.

SHARED TAXI: This service is the cheapest and most advantageous. Departures take place every 30 minutes and the taxi departs, regardless of whether there are one or 8 passengers in the car. The price is €7 and the journey takes about 40 minutes. The collective taxis are located just outside the arrivals hall (exit on the right).

BUS: If you’d rather save some coins (the ticket costs €6) and watch the road from above, you can catch the bus. The journey takes about 60 minutes.

METROPOLITAN: The train/metro runs regularly from the airport (2 journeys per hour). The ticket to Palermo Centrale costs €6.90 and the duration of the journey varies from 50 minutes to 70 minutes (some trips make more stopovers). The station is located on the underground level of the airport. Once you arrive at the station, you have to find out the connections to the desired destination station. For this purpose, the scoreboards at the train station or the side of the Trenitalia serve. Upon booking, you will receive an email with all the information you need to reach your apartment.

Arrival Catania

From Catania Airport  “Fontanarossa ” you can reach Palermo only by SAIS bus. The journey takes about 2:30 hours. Prices and timetables can be found on the website of the bus company SAIS.

Arrival Trapani

From airport  “Birgi ” in Trapani you can reach Palermo Central Station by Terravision buses. The duration of the trip is about 2 hours. Prices and timetables can be found on the website of the bus company terravision.
